FreshBooks Announces the Ability for Small Business Owners to Collect Payments Directly Within Microsoft Outlook with Microsoft Pay

Toronto, Canada —May 7, 2018 — FreshBooks, the #1 invoicing and accounting software in the cloud designed exclusively for self-employed professionals and their teams, is announcing an integration with Microsoft Outlook. Soon, hundreds of millions of Outlook customers will be able to pay invoices and bills from right inside their inbox, with just a few clicks. Customers will be able to complete payments in Outlook using Microsoft Pay, a fast, easy and trusted experience. Over the coming months, Microsoft will enable this capability for FreshBooks’ customers sending digital invoices with Stripe and Chase as the payment service.

Self-employed professionals accelerating move to digital payments

Small business owners using FreshBooks will soon be able to offer their clients the ability to view and pay their invoices within Outlook, without having to leave their email client. This will make it easier to pay invoices directly from any device, speeding up payment receipt for small business owners. To date, FreshBooks has helped more than 10 million people across 160 countries to send invoices, track their time, manage expenses and get paid online. Support for Microsoft Pay is the most recent integration built on FreshBooks’ new, modernized platform, offering customers even more options for automating their workflow and reducing administrative tasks.

Working together to remove friction for small businesses

“FreshBooks is already the most ridiculously easy-to-use accounting software in the cloud,” said Mark Girvan, Chief Commercial Officer at FreshBooks. “Our redesigned platform has enabled us to provide new benefits for our users at a faster pace. With Microsoft Pay, we’re making it even easier for self-employed professionals to run their businesses, collaborate with their clients, and get paid faster.” Mike Ammerlaan, Director, Office 365 Ecosystem, elaborates on teaming up with FreshBooks: “Microsoft is excited to collaborate with innovative companies like FreshBooks that understand how their small business customers can benefit by enabling streamlined payment experiences through Outlook and Microsoft Pay.”

FreshBooks, which raised $43 million in July 2017 to expand its platform, will continue to invest in partnerships that help meet the unique needs of self-employed professionals, the fastest growing segment of the global workforce.
